EL DORADO, ARK. (Aug. 31, 2022) – Registration opened today for a junior golf clinic where children ages 6-18 can learn the basics of the sport from potential LPGA champions, organizers of the El Dorado Shootout presented by PepsiCo announced.
Murphy USA is hosting the free clinic as part of the El Dorado Shootout, an official event on the Epson Tour. Now in its seventh year, the tournament is slated for Sept. 23-25 at Mystic Creek Golf Course, which has been ranked by Golfweek as the 38th best public access course in the nation. Mystic Creek will also serve as the location for the free clinic.
“No golf experience is required, and no equipment is needed to participate in the clinic,” said Courtney Kelley, tournament director. “This hands-on clinic is a great way to introduce local children to golf and possibly help inspire their lifelong love of the game.”
Kelley also shared that the event will include instruction in three different areas of the game, as well as an opportunity to learn from Shootout participants and golf professionals.
“The kids will be divided into age groups and will get tips from Epson Tour members and PGA teaching professionals. Following the event, they’ll receive goodie bags, a sweet treat, and a golf ball signed by one of the Epson Tour players,” Kelley said. “2017 Shootout winner Hannah Green from Australia won the LPGA Championship two years after her victory here, so that golf ball could become a keepsake.”
The junior clinic is a free community outreach event sponsored by United Consulting. While the event is free, registration is required. To sign up, parents and guardians should visit ElDoradoShootout.com and click “Junior Clinic” under the “Events” tab.
