Registration open for 2024 Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Junior Clinic

EL DORADO, Ark. (Aug. 15, 2024) – Tournament organizers announced Thursday that registration is officially open for the 2024 Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Junior Clinic on Sept. 16 at Mystic Creek Golf Club.

The clinic is free and will give kids ages six through 18 a chance to meet with and learn from some of the golfers who will be competing in the El Dorado Shootout tournament presented by PepsiCo and Celsius at Mystic Creek from Sept. 20-22. Admission to the clinic is free thanks to United Consulting.

“The aim of the Junior Clinic is to teach kids the basics of golf, while hopefully inspiring them to pursue their own dreams like the players they are learning from have done,” Tournament Director Courtney Crotty Kelley said. “No prior golf experience is required, and we provide all of the equipment participants will need, so the kids can truly enjoy themselves while learning how to play golf.”

The clinic includes four hands-on areas of instruction on various parts of the game so local kids can build their skillset. Participants will be divided into different age groups and will receive goodie bags, a snack and a golf ball for Epson Tour players to sign after the clinic.

“School golf teams, church youth groups and public youth groups like Boys and Girls Clubs might also be interested in attending the clinic as a group outing,” Crotty Kelley said.

Parents and participants alike have enjoyed the Junior Clinic, expressing their enthusiasm by signing up to participate in the event year after year.

“My daughter has talked about it all year and is eager to come back!” Justin McVay said.

Cousins Matthew and Isaac Palculict found different reasons to love the Junior Clinic.

“Driving was hard, but fun!” Matthew said. “I want to go back!”

“I loved it! I like golf,” Isaac said. “It was fun and there were good coaches.”
