 EL DORADO, Ark., Sept. 27, 2015 – Jackie Stoelting (Vero Beach, Fla.) calmly tapped in a par on the 72nd hole to claim the first victory of her career at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Presented by PepsiCo at Mystic Creek Golf Club.“I just woke up this morning and had this feeling that I could win today and that’s an awesome feeling,” Stoelting said with a smile. “It’s been a long time coming and I’m so excited to be the champion today.”

Stoelting tallied three birdies against a lone bogey on her final round to finish at 3-under for the week, three-shots clear of runner-up Ally McDonald (Fulton, Miss.).

“It’s a tough golf course,” Stoelting explained. “It’s all about placement. You’ve got to be able to hit good approach shots and then you have to make putts and fortunately I came out on top this week which is everything that I could ask for.”

The Florida native finished third last season on the Volvik Race for the Card money list to earn her LPGA Tour card and while Stoelting didn’t have the season she would have envisioned out on the LPGA she is hoping that this win will give her confidence going into the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School in December.

“It was a tough tough year out there,” Stoelting admitted. “I actually made more money today than I did all year out on the LPGA so I really just wanted to play a couple of events to gain my confidence back because I know that I’m a good player. To be honest it helped a lot not having to worry about a money list and just play golf. It doesn’t mean that the nerves weren’t there but it means everything to me that I had the chance to come out here and preform and play well. This is definitely the boost that I needed.

In her victory speech, Stoelting got emotional while thanking all of the people who have supported her over her years in professional golf.

“It’s meant everything,” Stoelting said. “When I went to college I didn’t think that I’d ever turn professional. The support that I’ve had from my family and friends is more than I could ever ask for. My dad calls me ‘Jacko’ and my family friends have nicknamed themselves ‘Jacko’s Wackos’ and they have been amazing and I can’t thank them enough for their support. They always have my back and knew that I could do this.”

ALLY MCDONALD FINISHES SOLO SECOND

Ally McDonald (Fulton, Miss.), a sponsor invite this week, finished her tournament in even par to secure an impressive solo second place finish at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Presented by PepsiCo.

“I’m really really pleased,” McDonald said. “Coming in I knew with the golf course playing as challenging as it was that even par would be a really good score. It turned out to be what I shot and I guess I needed a little bit more but overall really really pleased with how I hit the ball and my placement.”

The Mississippi State grad shot 1-under on her final round to finish 3-shots back of tournament winner Jackie Stoelting and take home $9,295.

“Coming into any tournament you really want to win but a second place finish in my first Symetra event you’ve got to be happy with that. Hopefully, I’ll keep it going with Stage II coming up.”

MONROE’S ALEXIS BELTON ENJOYS HERE SYMETRA EXPERIENCE

Alexis Belton (Monroe, La.) finished up her second round early on Sunday morning and while the amateur missed the cut she enjoyed her first experience competing against professionals at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Presented by PepsiCo.

“It was awesome,” Belton said. “I definitely enjoyed it. Even though I didn’t play well I know that this is where I belong one day and hopefully soon.”

Belton took her first step toward those goals this summer when she competed in the first stage of LPGA Qualifying school in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

“I’m finishing up my senior year at Texas Wesleyan but I did go to Q-School this summer and enjoyed my time there so I’ll have some status for Symetra next year,” Belton explained. “I gained confidence out here this week. The girls helped me out a lot in learning a lot of different things and it was a great experience.”

KATELYN SEPMOREE MAKES AN ACE

Katelyn Sepmoree (Tyler, Texas) recorded her first ace in competition and third of her life on the seventh hole of the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout Presented by PepsiCo at Mystic Creek Golf Club.

“It was playing about 135 or 140. Pin was back left. I gripped down on a nine iron and just turned it in right in there and it bounced before the hole and then in,” Sepmoree explained. “It was awesome.”

What made the hole-in-one extra special is that she had quite a few friends and family in attendance to witness the ace.

“Since it was so close to home I had a lot of people come and watch me so it was really cool.”

Shannon Fish (Spring, Texas) also recorded an ace on the seventh hole where she hit a 9 iron from 138…Casey Grice (College Station, Texas) finished in solo fifth after sitting in T66 after round one…University of Arkansas grad Emily Tubert (Burbank, Calif.) finished T37 and earned $664…University of Central Arkansas grad Julia Roth (Karlskrona, Sweden) finished T46 and earned $453.
